Project Enlist Canada
Accelerating critical brain health research, educating and engaging our communities, and ensuring no service member or loved one is left without the care and support they need.
Critical Research
What is Project Enlist Canada?
Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada built Project Enlist Canada collaboratively with CAF members, Veterans, and families who live with the effects of service on the brain. Together, we are accelerating critical brain health research, educating and engaging our communities, and ensuring no service member or loved one is left without the care and support they need.
TBI due to blast injury or exposure, as well as other service-related causes, is a significant problem in the military community. However, the science of TBI and related disorders still has far to go. There are no clinically reliable diagnostic tests for living patients, and while promising therapies exist, few have been rigorously validated or widely adopted.
To advance the science, Project Enlist Canada partners with brain banks and research groups worldwide to uncover how TBIs affect the brain. Every pledge and donation brings us closer to effective treatments for TBI and related outcomes to better care for those who serve to protect Canada.

RESEARCH ACCELERATION
Pledge Your Brain to Accelerate Military Brain Health Research
Project Enlist Canada is actively recruiting and conducting outreach to the military community to encourage Veterans and service members to sign up for the CLF Research Registry.
The Canadian Concussion Centre and the CAMH Brain Health Imaging Centre are helping advance our understanding of brain trauma, moving the needle on better diagnosis and treatments. This is achieved through clinical research participation, brain pledges, and brain donation.
World renowned neuropathologist, Dr. Gabor Kovacs, neurologist, Dr. Carmela Tartaglia, and radiochemist, Dr. Neil Vasdev lead the collaborative research between the two centres. To date, 500 Canadian Veterans and service members have taken the pledge to support this groundbreaking Canadian research.

Here to support those who sacrificed for us.

Why Brain Donation is Critical
Brain donation accelerates brain injury research. By demonstrating how the condition affects hundreds of athletes, we have inspired the scientific community to invest in this field.
Brain injury also affects Veterans worldwide. We are committed to accelerating research for Canadian service members to support those who dedicated their lives to serving.
Our partners at the CAMH Brain Health Imaging Centre are working toward an in-life diagnosis and a cure. Brain donation unlocks these discoveries and deepens our understanding of military brain trauma.

Closing the Gender Gap in Research
Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada and Project Enlist are closing the gender gap by partnering with researchers who prioritize gender equity and address female underrepresentation.
Project Enlist Canada encourages female Veterans to share their injury history. Help us achieve equity. If you or a woman you know is interested in clinical research or brain donation, take the pledge.

MWO Brendan Hynes pledged his brain to Project Enlist Canada to help understand how traumatic brain injuries impact those who served. In this video, Brendan explains his "why" and how his daughters saved his life. (Warning: mentions suicide).
Over 500 Veterans have pledged so far. If you served, Project Enlist is another opportunity to fight for the men and women who defended our country alongside you.
